Check out Aeon for Ocean’s Guide to Common Sense Plastic- and take the Pledge!
Dear Friends,
Plastic is one of the biggest dangers to marine animals, and there’s a lot of it in our oceans and waterways. Are you ready to help solve the plastic pollution problem? Check out this “Guide to Common Sense Plastic” created by our amazing partner, Aeon for Ocean.
Aeon for Ocean’s Guide suggests some simple things that each of us can all do to help reduce plastic waste. They also have a page on their website that does a great job of explaining what plastic pollution is and what we can all to help. Their suggestions include:
- Select items that come in non-plastic recycled and recyclable packaging
- Don’t use a plastic straw, keep reusable utensils and straws on hand
- Use reusable snack bags and sandwich wrap for school lunches
- Use paper products instead of plastic or Styrofoam
- Use paper or reusable shopping bags
- Use bar soap and shampoo
- Use reusable water bottles (From aeonforocean.org)
Way to go, Aeon for Ocean! Thank you for all you are doing to help protect our world’s oceans and the cool animals who live there. Thank you, also, to our readers and fans– for all you are doing to protect wild creatures everywhere. Each of you, by doing small things each day, makes a difference. Together, we make an ocean of a difference!
What better way to end a blog post than singing a song about its topic! Watch and sing-along to our kids music videos “Keep the Ocean Clean”, “Take the Pledge for World Ocean Day”, and “A Poem for World Wildlife Day”
