Birdsong is an educator, songwriter and recording artist who is passionate about music, kids and restoring the earth for future generations. She holds a Masters Degree in Social Work and a Bachelors in Special Education.

As a child, Birdsong loved animals, trees and all things wild. Easily awed by the wonders of the natural world, she adopted her spirit of earth stewardship in high school after participating in her first ecology class. As an adult, she has woven images of nature throughout her original songs of healing and inspiration.

In 2005, after a series of synchronistic events that included a Tidewater Docent training, Birdsong wrote her first children’s tune, The Tide Pool Song. This musical tribute to the tidepools quickly became a beloved song of environmentalists, children, teachers and parents throughout southern California. It was the beginning of new musical direction and a growing collection of “eco-tunes” that have become Birdsong’s signature in the world of music and environmental education.

Birdsong's The Tide Pool Song and Adapt to the Habitat are used as teaching tools by state, county and city parks throughout southern California. They are heard and sung by tens of thousands of children each year.

Birdsong currently resides in Laguna Beach, California with her family and feathered friends Bernie and Caiqua. (pronounced ky-ee-ka)
